Our
Children's Ministries
United Methodist Kids
United Methodist Kids (UMK) is our Wednesday afternoon program. Our
church bus picks the kids up at the elementary schools and brings them to the
church from 3 - 5pm. Ages 3 years through 6th grade are invited to
attend. The program includes a snack, craft, lesson, music, and recreation.
It’s a small Vacation Bible School each Wednesday.
Children’s Choir
Children’s Choir meets during UMK. They perform in church and put on
special
musicals each year.
Sunday School
We have Sunday School Classes for all ages. Sunday School meets from
9:45-10:50 every Sunday morning.
- Joy - Nursery - This class has an interactive Sunday School lesson
using pictures, songs, and crafts.
- Kindness - K & 1st grade -This class uses a combination of storytelling, acting, and reading the Bible story together.
- Love - 2 & 3 grade class. They learn the bible lesson through crafts, reading the Bible story, acting it out, music, and worship.
- Faith - 4th and 5th grades - They use hands-on games, activities, crafts, and worship as well as reading the Bible and music.
Children's Sermon
Each Sunday morning during our worship service, time is set aside for a
special children's ministry.
Children's Church
After the children's sermon, Pre-K -1st grade kids are invited to their own
worship service.
Vacation Bible School
Each year our church has a week-long Vacation Bible School in July for
children ages 2 through 6th grade. Our program is a free
program open to the entire community. We meet from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
each day. Transportation is available if needed.
Safe Sanctuaries
Our church council voted to make First United Methodist Church a safe
sanctuary for children and youth who attend our services and participate in
our programs. Workers with children and youth are asked to sign a
covenant letter stating their commitment to the safe sanctuaries program,
allowing the church to run background checks in order to ensure a safe
environment at First. Thank you for supporting this program at First
Church!
