Our Programs

  • Sunday Worship attendance is strong. People are coming to church, worshiping, celebrating God's presence, and lifting one another up in prayer - that's a good thing!

  • Wonderful Wednesdays are truly "wonderful" with over 90 people gathering for fantastic food, enriching fellowship, and a good serving of "soul food" prepared especially for children, youth, and adults.  If you are not attending wonderful Wednesday's, you are missing a real treat!  Wonderful Wednesday's is a good thing!

  • Our youth and children's ministries are vibrant with great programs, activities, and fellowship.  Thirty-seven of those young people recently piled into the church bus for a local outing -- young people are being blessed... that's a good thing!

  • Our preschool is touching many children in our church and community.  The kids are learning about Jesus, the Bible, and God's love for them.

  • Our Safe Sanctuaries covenant has be signed by workers with children and youth.

  • United Methodist Women

  • Men's Fellowship

  • Vacation Bible School - Each year our church has a week-long Vacation Bible School in July for children ages 2 through 6th grade.  Our program is a free program open to the entire community.  We meet from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm each day.  Transportation, if needed is available.

  • As we approach a new year, please give some thought and prayer to the following items:

        a. Lay Witness Mission Weekend - PLEASE place this event on your calendar - April 18 - 20 (This is a church-wide event, including adults, youth, and children - held at the church, involving every member and friend of our church!! More information will be shared in the coming weeks  - We are seeking 100% participation for this event -- it IS that important, and will be a weekend you will never forget!!)
        b. Beliefs 101 - Basic course on Christian Methodist beliefs, history, and doctrine - taught by myself during the Sunday School hour on Sunday Jan. 20, 27 & Feb. 3 & 10. Call the church office and sign up NOW for this essential teaching.
        c. Parish Friends Program - With all of our new members joining, we need mentor/friends to come along side these new members and help them assimilate into the life of our church. Do you wish to be a mentor/friend to one of our new members? Watch for more information as we begin a new year, or if you have interest in assisting a new member, please let Teresa know. (Prov. 18:24)
        d. The Barnabas Battalion - we will be forming a consolation ministry and visitation teams for shut-ins, hospitalized members, and for other needs. If this sounds like a ministry you may be interested in, please let us know, and we will be having training/organization in the new year! (Acts 4:36, 9:31)
        e. Prayer Team Ministry - the formation of prayer teams ready to pray with those in need, both during the worship service and beyond. Also, we will be looking at establishing a prayer "chapel" to help meet the prayer needs of our visitors and members to First.

Please continue to pray for the many programs, ministries and opportunities for service at First Church.
